Lovin' Fall

Honestly, I love fall! I love the colors, I love the crisp air with the sun still shining, I love love LOVE fall. That's as cheesy as I'll get today. Anyway, we're living up the good weather even with colds, school and work. We spent last weekend in Fish Lake with my parents and Aubrey and Kurtis. It was so fun and so beautiful. We went to Capitol Reef on Saturday and the weather was perfect. It was Steve's first time there so that was pretty cool and I know he enjoyed it. We went boating and shot some guns... It was just a great weekend get-away. Thanks mom and dad!

Rockin' Out and Playing with Friends

That's what we like to do...
So I got Steve tickets to "Everytime I Die" the band for our anniversary. We went and it was super fun. It was my first hardcore rock concert. There was tons of energy and Steve was loving it and it was fun to see him in that element.
Yes, Steve crowd surfed more than once and I'm glad he only left with a small bruise on his head from someone kicking him accidentally. We wore ear plugs so our hearing is still in tact.
Steve was our photographer for the evening. I didn't crowd surf, but I was front up against the stage the whole time... So I think I was a pretty cool wife. Sweaty stranger bodies rubbing up against me though the entire time was NOT pleasant for me... I'm becoming such a prude:)
Steve got me tickets to Ingrid Michaelson in October so we'll have another concert to blog about but I'm sure it'll be a completely different experience.
Have we mentioned how much we love Rob and Sarah?! They're pretty much just great and we love when we can find a time in our busy schedules to hang out... A couple of weekends ago we had a night out at Trafalga... We lived it up and did every activity possible. Thanks guys, we kinda like you.

1 year down... Eternity to go...

As of September 4th, Steve and I have been married a year. A whole year and we still like each other. I'm very proud. We had such a great weekend. We went to Steve's parents place in St. George and had the place to ourselves all weekend long. Since it was Labor Day weekend, we got an extra day in as well.
We went and saw Aida at Tuahcan and it was really well done. Honestly if you haven't seen it or own the soundtrack to this gem you should work on it. The music was written by Elton John and it's one of my favs. Steve liked it as well so that was good. I was like a gitty school girl.

The next day we hiked Angels Landing in Zion National Park. It was a first for both of us so it was really cool to experience it together. Can I just say SO BEAUTIFUL! Honestly, it wasn't a horrendous hike either. We went on the perfect day, the breeze was there and there was a little bit of cloud coverage. It was absolutely beautiful and we had so much fun too!
The weekend was just what we needed. School is kicking my trash and I'm so tired all of the time, but I'm keeping up so my goal is still in tact. Steve is busy with work and figuring out things for our future. I honestly have so many pics as of late though and so much to post so hopefully I'll find time soon. We're still finding time to have fun, don't you worry!

Sigh...

Look at these happy faces. Remember when it used to be exciting for the first day of school? You'd get butterflies and couldn't sleep? You'd have the perfect outfit ready to put on in the morning and you were ready to go 30 minutes before you even had to leave? Those were better times.
School has started once again. This is the first REAL week back and I already know it's going to be a busy semester. I'm taking 18 credits and the goal is to finish school strong. I'm lucky enough that with my last two semesters my full-time job will be being a student. The hubby is working and we've agreed that my main focus is school until April. So, I may survive this busy schedule.
I've got one goal and one goal only for this semester and I'll be letting you know how it's going.

STAY CAUGHT UP!!!

No late assignments, work before play, ect. I know that as long as I follow this simple goal that I'll be able to do well and that is the light at the end of the tunnel! 18 credits, bring it on!

August has Been Speedy!

I feel like I'm running at full speed all of the time and there's no way I'm ever
going to catch up. Things are busy with school starting for me next week (yuck)
and the summer coming to an end (bigger yuck). Steve is still working at MRIoA
and we're happy that in this economy he has a steady job. August has been
super fun for us. Tomorrow will be the first Saturday in a while that we don't
have to wake up at a certain time and be on the go from the moment our heads
leave our pillows. I'm SO excited about that. I had a girls night with the Low
family and I painted every one's nails so if you're wondering what that first pic is,
that's that. I try to be the super cool aunt. Ha ha... It was such a fun night
and I love my in-laws. I got super lucky. We went to Snowbird for Steve's work party
and got to ride on the rides and play on the rock wall and other cool crud like that.
I loved the zip-line despite what anyone else says. I thought it was fun and NOT
boring. I didn't find it scary though. Rob (works with Steve) and his wife Sarah
were there and she got a little scared. I was laughing so hard. At the end there's a
big spring that stops you. I guess the guy getting her strapped in saw that she
was nervous and told her that this rope was the break... It was just a rope connected to
her back. She was pulling on that thing as hard as she could and screaming bloody
murder the entire way down. She apparently almost had an accident from
the terror and I almost did from watching it unfold in front of me.
Steve and Rob are buddies. He's going to miss Rob at work. Today is his last day, he's
going back to school. I guess Steve's the only one who has to pretend to be a
grown-up or something. They had a dinner for us that evening and a raffle. I was
very disappointed that we didn't win the laptop, but we did get a gift card to
the Cheesecake factory. That almost made up for the disappointment. The next
morning, we were rowing for Gordon (bro-in-law) in his 10 mile swimming race
up at Deer Creek. We had to wake up early and it was a bit chilly, hence why I look
so happy. Gordon was doing really well so it was okay that we were paddling
upstream the entire time and soaking wet because it was raining. Thunder and lightening
hit and after almost 5 miles, we were all booted out of the water. I was so bummed for
Gordon. We were stranded on rocks in the wind and rain and FREEZING cold
for about an hour before we were rescued. We were both so cold that
it took us (me) an hour long shower to even start the tingling of feeling back into
my body. We slept away the rest of the day and had a nice dinner that night so it
all worked out. Honestly, it was an adventure, even though it was a cold one. We're
always happy to help out our family anytime. This is what it looked like before the race
even started. We were hoping it'd clear. Oh well. Next year Gordon! We'll be there.

So school starts on Wednesday and then the next weekend, Steve and I are off

to ST. GEORGE for year 1. I can't believe we've been married almost a year. So

crazy! I'm already starting to feel old. ha ha... not really. I'm excited to give Steve

his present. What do you think I got him? If you know... please don't spoil his surprise!

Alecia and Sam's wedding

Alecia and Sam got married on Saturday. It was a long day, but it
was also such a great day! We were so happy to be a part of it all.
They make such a great couple and we couldn't be happier for them.
They got married in the Manti temple and it was my first time
up close and inside this building. SO BEAUTIFUL!

I kinda like this guy sittin' next to me. Congrats again Lil Huss and Sam!
By the way: I've put up two more posts today, so keep looking!
