Out with the bad...

In with the GOOD...
Last week I was depressingly sick. Swine flu... Not really, but it felt like it. Steve's old roommate Isaac and his wife Leanne came to visit and stayed with us from Thursday until Tuesday. We had a lot of fun and luckily I was starting to feel better. We did a lot of stuff and yes, Steve even went golfing! Also, the weather the past few days have been amazing! Yea for the sunshine.
So... In with good friends, good weather, good health and just an overall good week.

So Blue

So our place is finally feeling like home. This isn't the best pic, but I could stand and look at my living room for hours. It just makes me happy. When I told people that we were going to paint the wall blue, I got some weird looks. Well, I think it turned out amazing and I don't care what anyone else thinks :) Really though, it was fun for Steve and I to do together (except for the part where the ceiling fan hit Steve in the head). I'll post more pics of our new place soon. What do you think of my orange couch?

The Lost Boys

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at Jake and Syree's little girls' birthday party. Steve and I were in charge of painting faces. The weather stayed good until it was over so we were lucky. Steve and Jake have been best friends for a really long time. I love when we all get together because my husband turns into a kid again. We always have so much fun and I just love that they are such good friends. After the party, we climbed for a while and went to my counsin Violet's b-day party. Happy Birthday to Berkley and Violet!

Paul is a Liar!

If you are wondering who Paul is...

Paul is the guy who works in the office of our new place and worked with us while signing the contract and everything.

If you are wondering why he's a liar...

I will tell you! There are trails up the mountain behind where we live. That's one of the reasons why we liked this place so much. They're cut into the mountain and I specifically asked him if they were just foot trails or if they were bike trails as well. He says: OH THEY'RE GREAT FOR BIKING.
I'm thinking to myself, SCORE. WE HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT PLACE.
Steve and I decided to go on a bike ride on those trails last night. I'm new at the whole mountain biking world, but we want to get into it. This was not great for my first experience on a dirt trail. It had rained that day which didn't make it any easier. The trail was not, I repeat, NOT for bikes! It was so thin and I don't think anyone even has gone on the trails for years. Half of it was jungle I tell ya! I've got scrapes and bruises all over my body and I am seriously considering having a chat with our friend Paul (not really). Anyway, I wasn't the best sport about it so thanks babe for putting up with me. Elephant Rock I'll be better. (We're going to try a trail called Elephant Rock in Bountiful, anyone ever biked it?)

Anyways, that's my sad story of the week. It was bad enough that my body stung when I got in the shower afterwards. And yes, this is my second post today. I said I'd do three a week this month. Next one, I promise there will be pictures!

Oh! AND we got an orange couch and I absolutely adore it!!! Don't think badly if you haven't seen it. You'll all be jealous! Ha ha...

The Place...

Is Starting to Feel Like a Home!

Things are going well for the Low's in Draper. The commute isn't bad for me and it's SO much better for Steve. He's not stuck in traffic 3 hours out of his day anymore. Woo-Hoo! The cable guy came today and we officially have cable and Internet at our place. We didn't have either at our old place and I'm not quite sure what we're going to do with all of these outside sources available to us 24/7!!! I still refuse to have a TV in the bedroom and it isn't going to be turned on while we eat dinner. My favorite part of the day is when we both get home from our days of work or errands or whatever is going on and just sit and talk about all that went on. I'm not ever going to give that up. We have yet to use the pool that is at our place. Please clouds, go away for a while.

So Long, Farewell Dearest Provo

Yes, you read that right. We are officially moving to Draper and are actually already in the process of doing so. We'll be out of our place in Provo this weekend! It's bitter sweet. We're excited to be in a new area but Provo has been kind to us.

Some things I have learned while packing and moving this week:

-Married moving is a lot harder than moving apartments when you're just YOU

-We have SO MUCH STUFF! Especially in the kitchen. I know that one day I'll be so happy that I have every kitchen gadget possible, but I don't know how to use probably 60% of them at this time.

-Good friends and family who are there to help in any way are such a blessing!

-Never paint your nails the day before you start packing... Total waste of time. I'll need a good manicure when all is said and done.

Things that we're looking forward to:

-Having a shower that we can actually STAND UP in. Yea!

-Getting our own couch...

-Being closer to Steve's work. It's about a twenty minute commute for both of us now. We just go in opposite directions in the morning.

-Having a bed on actual legs, not just a mattress on the floor.

We'll miss Provo, but we'll be around. We're not very far away. Again, thank you to all of you who have helped. You've made our life A LOT easier!

Okay, I told you that you'd get updates on what has been going on in the past couple of months. It seems like after Spring Break, things just moved so quickly and we both were so busy but we found time, of course, to still enjoy life. A few things we've been up to:
Spending time with good friends is something that we both enjoy doing. While we were in St. George, we got to hand out with Alecia and Sam and I was giddy like a little girl. Alecia and I lived together for a long time and have been good friends since. I'm so happy that she and Sam found each other and just as happy that she moved back to Utah this past weekend!
Steve GRADUATED!!! Isn't he so cute? Oh yeah, and I chopped 14 inches of hair off. It was time, that's all I have to say about it. Steve is now working two jobs. One is SLC and one here in Orem and I am just so grateful that we are given new opportunities each and every day to experience individually and together. I'm so proud of him! Did you know that he got a 4.0 these last two semesters?! Holy Moly, I married well!
We've been enjoying the incredible weather and living it up. We're climbing, mountain biking, running, and just playing outside every spare moment that we get. We're working on the running thing. I've never been a big runner, but slowly I'm getting better. It is swimsuit season now...
We finally took down the wallpaper in my parents room. This may or may not have been my mothers b-day present from us last AUGUST, but we finally got it done and actually had a good time working together.
Our last adventure was last week and a bunch of us went up to the cabin in Logan. It was so much fun. There was sunshine and rain and we played volleyball in it all! Thanks to all of you who came. We'll go again soon!

So... That's what's been going on with us in a nutshell. We're currently looking for a new place to live seeing as how Steve is driving to SLC every morning. We're going to look for a half-way place. That's something we're looking forward to. Wish us luck with packing. Oh yeah... Thanks to all of you who left recepies for me... They were great! Keep them coming!

Blogging for JUNE

Yes! We are alive... Life has been a little crazy and blogging has pretty much been the last thing on my mind, but I promise to do better (at least for a little while). I am promising that I will make at least three posts a week for the month of June. I don't know if any of you care what's been going on in our little life, but it's time to document it. We are happy and healthy and life is treating us well. We're just enjoying the ride. Starting today, you will have the chance (if you so desire) to be up-to-date with the LOW life. Hope everyone is enjoying the weather and stay tuned for updates.
